I have some incredibly fond memories of mussels right by the sea in Brittany on holiday with my family. Even though they don’t look particularly appetising when you first buy them, all beardy and covered in limpets, they scrub up very well.
They’re also incredibly easy to cook, and they look pretty impressive when served.
I’ve got a problem. It’s a pretty major camera addiction.
Over the last couple of years, my analogue camera collection has exploded a little.
It all started when I managed to grab a gorgeous preloved Fisheye camera on ebay for not very much money at all.
Last week, I continued my amazing burger adventure at Wannaburger. Yum. I ordered a Harry Redknapp meal. That was the special that day. I don’t eat football people. It had 2 burgers, mozzarella, bacon, and pesto. It was beautiful.
Rent is pretty much my (second) favourite musical of all time.
First place will always go to My Fair Lady, mostly because I’ve been watching it since I was a tiny child, and Rent isn’t really toddler-appropriate. Also, My Fair Lady encouraged me to speak with received pronunciation, despite my being from the North-East, and therefore prone to some kind of regional dialect.
Imagine my surprise, then, when I realised that Cedric Diggory, Kingsley Shacklebolt and I had never sat down together to watch Rosario Dawson, Idina Menzel et al! Boy has watched me watch Rent. I mostly cried over Mimi, despite having seen the film many many times. I love her.
I spent the whole Christmas break, and a little bit of extra time before and after it, avoiding my inbox, my studies, and least importantly, my blog. I think it’s time for me to get back to my life. I’m answering my heap of emails, and I’m on top of my studies, despite a little tummy bug. Sharing photos is next on my list.
I had planned to write about my rapidly expanding camera army, but that may have to be another day. Instead, it’s burger date time. Yesterday, boy and I went on an adventure to the Royal Mail depot, to pick up his new copy of “Cookin’ with Coolio” (if you’re even vaguely interested, buy it, purely for novelty value. It’s hilarious.) We had planned on having lunch in a little cute cafe somewhere, but instead ended up in Charlotte Square, and unable to resist the call of Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
